Many second graders are capable of recounting a story from beginning to end, including an introduction, basic plot, simple description of the setting and characters, a climax, and an ending or conclusion. As students continue to practice their narrative writing, they can further develop their story-telling abilities and learn more about the proper way to structure a narrative account.
